TIME FOR CHRIST

It's time to become a real Christian! High time. Let me give you three reasons why you and the Lord Jesus should get together:

1. FOR YOURSELF
There is a problem. You have been cut off from the God who made you. You're like an unplugged electric kettle - away from the source of power.
If ever you are to know the true reason for your life, and to know a life which is eternal, you need to get back to God.
But as soon as you try, you are aware of a barrier of your own making. You have not lived the perfect life which would have kept you at one with God.
You are guilty of what God calls "sin": not doing those things God wants, and doing things God does not want. By thought, and speech, and action, you have failed. You need to be forgiven and to enjoy the peace and freedom of walking with God's spirit filling your heart.

2. FOR CHRIST
Here's the miracle! Jesus can make this happen. He lived a perfect life in your place, and then died that cruel death on the Cross. There he paid for your sin, being separated from his own Father. For his sake you should become a Christian. His love calls you. His risen life can change your life today.

3. FOR OTHERS
Family, friends, neighbours - who is telling them of God's love for them in Jesus? They have the right to know. When someone meets Jesus they find he is so great they want to share him with others. Some may laugh. Others may not want to know. But some will meet him - as you are going to. But how? How can you become a real Christian?

Three steps are needed:

ONE: ADMIT
Own up to what's wrong. Stop pretending everything's OK. Tell God you have. failed. Admit your need to be forgiven by Jesus. Tell God how much you want his Spirit to live in your heart. The Bible uses the word 'Repent'. It means turning from the way you've lived, and from all your sin, to God.

TWO: ACCEPT
Even if it seems too good to be true, accept that the miracle of a new life can happen for you.
Jesus will set you free from the slavery of sin, and give you an eternal life with Heaven as your home. His Spirit will make you like Jesus - with his love, and joy, and peace. He will give a new way of living, and a new family of all those who love him too.
That will take all you've got. Jesus Christ will become Lord of your life. There will be no part of life about which he won't say "That's mine". So don't make this move lightly.
If you are willing, then:

THREE: ASK
The Bible says "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved".
Give your life to Christ now. Ask him to come into your life with his forgiveness and power. Trust him.
"Lord Jesus Christ, I give you my whole life now. Please come and live in my heart. Wash away all my sin. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. Thank you that you will never leave me". Amen.
